The Utah Coalition Academy (UCA) is a 10-day comprehensive training program created in partnership with the Community Anti Drug Coalitions of America, the Utah Prevention Network, and the Utah Prevention Coalition Association. The curriculum was developed by CADCA’s National Coalition Institute and teaches leaders “what they need to know” (the core competencies) and “what their team needs to do” (the essential processes) to establish and maintain a highly effective anti-drug coalition.
The Coalition Academy is designed specifically for coalition staff and volunteer leadership. It combines 10 days of classroom training, three reinforcement on-line sessions and access to a web-based workstation. The Academy’s training curriculum is organized within SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework. By the end of the training, coalitions will have developed five essential products (1) a community assessment, (2) a logic model, (3) a strategic & action plan, (4) an evaluation plan and (5) a sustainability plan. In addition, coalitions will gain more insight and understanding into how to run effective meetings and maintain a quality, action-oriented prevention coalition.
The cost for the Academy is $2125 per person. This covers all materials for the Academy, the entire training and lunches, a personal account on the Utah Coalition Academy Workstation, registration for all webinars, and individual TA with CADCA trainers. Cost does not cover lodging & dinner.
